On Thursday, March 9, 2023, U.S. Embassy Nassau presented Health Minister Dr. Michael Darville, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pearl McMillan and Registrar Dr Philip Swann with 23,760 Pfizer COVID vaccines, representing over 300,000 doses donated to date.
“The path forward in the pandemic will require doubling down on our commitment to help vaccinate the globe and to save lives by making tests, treatments, and PPE widely available,” said Acting Charge’ d’Affaires, Jason Crosby during the handover at the Lynden Pindling International Airport.
“We would like to thank the government of The Bahamas for its continued collaboration in these efforts.”
President Biden has committed to donating 1.2 billion doses globally which represents the largest commitment of any single country or group of countries in the world.
The latest handover was in fulfillment of a request made by the Bahamian government.
