This September, U.S. Embassy and Bahamian business representatives will join forces to promote new and increased U.S. investment in The Bahamas.
Miami, Florida; Las Vegas Nevada; and Reston, Virginia will host conferences for thousands of U.S. businesses to learn about foreign investment opportunities in the region.
The U.S. Embassy is particularly excited to announce that for the first time, The Bahamas will participate in the largest North American clean energy conference RE+ 2023, September 11-14. Bahamas Power and Light, the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) as well as representatives from several government ministries and departments will join clean energy leaders from across North America. RE+ 2023 aims to connect renewable industry buyers and sellers. Participation in the RE+ conference compliments Vice President Kamala Harris’ historic visit to The Bahamas where she focused on clean energy initiatives under the U.S.-Caribbean Partnership to Address the Climate Crisis 2030 (PACC2030).
U.S. Embassy Economic and Commercial Officer Richard Wesch and Economic Specialist Sandiria Hall are hopeful the RE+2030 conference will create new U.S.- Bahamian connections that lead to an uptick in The Bahamas’ investment in renewable energy.
RE+2030 will not be the only opportunity in September to showcase all The Bahamas has to offer U.S. enterprises. U.S. Embassy Commercial Specialist, Bianca Bethel-Swayer presented to hundreds of U.S. businesses on the topic, “Market Overview and Business Opportunities in The Bahamas,” at the U.S. Caribbean Business Conference (CBC) in Miami, September 6-7. The CBC focuses on foreign export strategies for U.S. companies and presents an opportunity for U.S. Embassy representatives to promote The Bahamas as the place to do business.
As the month concludes, Reston will attract different U.S. enterprises at their Business Opportunities in the Americas Conference, September 17-19. The U.S. Embassy’s participation in these conferences will ensure The Bahamas remains top of mind for U.S. companies looking to expand overseas.
