U.S. citizens in The Bahamas or Turks and Caicos Islands can submit their application for a U.S. passport to the American Citizen Services Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Nassau. The actual printing of the passport books takes place at the National Passport Processing Center in the United States, where a passport incorporating a digitized image and other enhanced security features can be produced. You may expect to wait approximately 7-10 business days, or two calendar weeks, for your new U.S. passport to be received and processed for pick up with us.

A Social Security Number is required for all passport applications. If you have been issued a Social Security number you must provide it on your application for a U.S. passport. If you are in the Bahamas or Turks & Caicos and require a new or replacement Social Security number card, or are unsure as to whether you have ever been issued one, you should contact the Federal Benefits Unit in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: https://do.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/social-security/.
You may expect to wait approximately 7-10 business days (2 calendar weeks) for your new U.S. passport book to be ready. CRBAs and passport cards take approximately 15 business days. Your new passport cannot be collected at U.S. Embassy Nassau, and will have to be returned to you via the options listed below. When selecting CASH ON DELIVERY (DHL or GWS) we will provide the airway bill on the day of your appointment and no action is required prior to your appointment.
The Embassy does not permit interested third parties such as friends, relatives, attorneys, or business contacts to attend non-immigrant visa interviews with the applicant.

If you are unable to provide fingerprints because of a medical condition, including birth defects, physical deformities, skin conditions, you may qualify for a fingerprint waiver for certain fingers.
