Fourteen Bahamian track and field coaches and administrators will participate in U.S. Embassy Nassau’s first of its kind, fully funded, two-week Bridging the Gap Sports Visitor program in Los Angeles, California and Eugene, Oregon, May 6-20.

Participants hail from Abaco, Andros, Eleuthera, Grand Bahama and New Providence.

Public Affairs Officer, Suemayah Abu-Douleh, briefed the group during a pre-departure orientation on Tuesday, April 11, in the American Corner of the University of The Bahamas’ Harry C. Moore Library.

Upon their return, participants are expected to use what they have learnt to create new programs or enhance their existing ones, with the goal of increasing female participation in track and field events.
