The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) and its counterparts in regional and international law enforcement held a joint press conference a the RBDF base on June 7 to announce that The Bahamas will host the second phase of Tradewinds 2018 June 14th – 21st. Tradewinds 2018 is an annual regional military training exercise this year’s focus is on countering transnational organized crime in the region. The training in New Providence will consist of simulated terrorist attacks. The exercise is sponsored by the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM). Among the officials on hand for the event, RBDF Commodore Tellis Bethel and Patrick Moore, representing USSOUTHCOM.
